A Snapshot of Your Day
You support the daily work of PD&T engineers in developing and maintaining manufacturing technologies for transformer production. Your main focus is automation, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics and the improvement of assembly and final-finishing processes. Your work may include shopfloor troubleshooting, testing a robot or cobot application, collecting process data, updating technical documentation, or supporting the introduction of new manufacturing equipment. With engineering guidance, you can gradually take ownership of a smaller development topic.
How You’ll Make an Impact
● Daily support for manufacturing engineering activities related to automation, PLC systems and robotics
● Support and maintain manufacturing engineering processes
● Support robot and cobot applications and smaller automation projects
● Update and maintain procedures, work instructions and technical documentation
● Collect and analyze manufacturing and process data
● Perform measurements and tests for verification and validation
● Support the introduction, troubleshooting and improvement of manufacturing equipment
What You Bring
● Ongoing studies in mechatronics, electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field
● Minimum 4 days, 32 hours / week availability
● Strong interest in PLC programming, industrial automation and robotics
● Practical, hands-on mindset and willingness to work regularly on the shop floor
● Ability to cooperate with Engineering, Production, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain and Purchasing

About the Team
The team is a dynamic group of 18 engineers forming the PD&T (Production Development & Technology) department. We develop, introduce, verify, validate and continuously improve the manufacturing technologies required for transformer production. Our scope includes manufacturing processes, machines, tools, fixtures and auxiliary equipment. We work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS and other functions. Our approach is practical and collaborative: we understand the real shopfloor problem, use data and engineering judgement, test solutions, and turn the learning into robust and sustainable standards.
Grid Technology
Our Grid Technology division enables a reliable, sustainable, and digital grid. The power grid is the backbone of the energy transition. Siemens Energy offers a leading portfolio and solutions in HVDC transmission, grid stabilization and storage, high voltage switchgears and transformers, and digital grid technology.
